Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Parent Company has Acquired Indiana University Health Plans

As announced in September 2024, Indiana University Health Plans has been acquired by Elevance Health, the parent company of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Indiana, including IU Health Plans Commercial employer-sponsored and Medicare Advantage businesses. More information is available here.

IU Health Plans Medicare Advantage member’s coverage will not change in 2025 due to the change in ownership. The plan you selected during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) will continue in 2025. Any terms or provisions communicated as part of a renewal or new enrollment will remain in effect for the entirety of the year 2025. If you made no change to your plan during AEP or otherwise, you will remain in your 2024 plan with updated 2025 benefits. Visit the Tools & Resources section of our website or log in to your Member Portal for details about your 2025 plan.

It’s easy to think about practicing healthy habits but doing it can be difficult. Whether it’s eating better, getting more movement, managing a chronic health condition, or finding better ways to handle emotions, it’s possible to live a more healthy life. Sometimes all you need is the right resources and support.

That’s where Healthy Results can play an important role. Healthy Results includes a variety of programs to improve physical health and emotional well-being, and all are offered at no cost to IU Health Plans members.


Health Coaching

Certified health coaches from Healthy Results support you to take steps toward feeling and functioning at your best. They will help you think through what motivates you, what might get in your way, and how to create an individualized plan. Build confidence as you set personalized goals. Condition Management

If you need more information about a medical diagnosis or abnormal lab result, our registered nurses can help you better understand by explaining risk factors, discussing prevention and the role of medications in your treatment. You can take control when you have the information you need and know the benefits of healthy habits. You can stay in control as you discover ways to partner with your care provider. Our condition management sessions are a valuable first step in creating your healthiest life.

MyStrength offers a confidential, flexible, and convenient digital program available online and through a mobile phone app, with proven tools and dedicated support for stress, depression, sleep, chronic pain and more. The application empowers users with personalized plans, recommended digital content and resources, and in-the-moment tools.
